Finding God

If you are looking for real freedom from sin or any spiritual darkness, the answer is in God!

God came seeking you first

It is important for you to know that God sent His Son into the world to seek and save the lost.  Before you came looking from Him, He already came looking for you!  He initiated the desire in your heart to find Him.

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.”  Luke 19:10

“That everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”  John 3:15-17

Come with a humble heart

God receives a humble heart and a prideful heart He rejects.  “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” James 4:6.  You humble yourself by admitting you have sinned against God and you need His mercy.  “For all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory.” Romans 3:23.  Sin is a crime and when you sin, you sin against God – the One who truly loves you!  “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.  For he who said, “You shall not commit adultery (lust is adultery in the heart),” also said, “You shall not murder (hatred is murder in the heart).” If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.”  James 2:10-11

God’s Word uses a term called ‘repentance’ which simply means with a broken heart convicted of sin you turn your heart and mind towards God.  It is a 180 degree turn from sin and the ways of the world, to God’s heart.

Trust Jesus Christ

You can be assured of Salvation from sin when you put your faith in Christ.  Christ took the punishment of your sin on his body at the cross.  “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”  2 Corinthians 5:21  “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6  “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Your new journey with God

When the wall of sin that separated you from God is broken, you are free to walk with God and fulfill His purpose for your life.  God has a burning desire to have a close relationship with His creation.  Eternal life is to know God, and there is nothing in this world more beautiful and fulfilling than knowing Jesus Christ. (John 17:3)  The more you spend time with Him and talk to Him, the more you will know Him.  The more you know Him, the more you will fall in love with Him.  When you are in love with God, you will live for him! Christ becomes your life (Colossians 3:4).
